The Hajj is a two-piece Psychedelic Eastern Jam Punk band comprised of brothers Philip and Freddie. Hailing from the beautiful city of Limassol, Cyprus, they bring a rich tapestry of Armenian and Lebanese heritage into their music, weaving it with experiences that have taken them from the Middle East to North America.
Their musical journey began while they were living in Saudi Arabia during their childhood, exposing them to even more diverse soundscapes and igniting a lifelong passion for creating unique melodies and grooves. Their official musical career started in 2000 with their first band, Clepto, after moving to Ottawa, Canada, in order to pursue higher education, greatly expanding their musical influences. In 2010, they took their band to Southern California, where they currently reside, and use it as a home base for their recordings and tours.

Formally established as "The Hajj" in 2017, they have toured the project across the United States, Canada, and back to their home in Cyprus. To date, they have played over 300 shows, including Skull Fest 12 in Pittsburgh, USA, Punx Make Noise Fest in Quebec City, Canada, the Garden Amphitheater in Garden Grove, California, the legendary Whiskey A Go Go, Viper Room and many more!
Their sound has evolved from their traditional cultural musical roots to the heavy Punk and Rock genres, with an emphasis on live improvisational sounds, striving for individuality and diversity, always with a message behind their lyrics and music. From day one, they have been a DIY band, touring, recording, and releasing their music independently to this day. With one full album already under their belt and two more in the works for the coming year, "The Hajj" is gearing up for an exciting 2024, where they aim to elevate their musical journey to new heights. Join them on this cool and unique musical pilgrimage, where they seamlessly blend heritage, punk attitude, and rock 'n' roll spirit.
